Genesis Collection

The Genesis Collection is the first subset of the Permanent Collection seeded with 160 crypto artworks from 160 artists. The Genesis Collection honors artists who pioneered crypto art and redefined digital ownership.

M○C△ Wings

Museum Wings will be periodically auctioned and are available for ambitious large-scale projects. M○C△ will work with auction winners to develop and curate wings.

M○C△ Exhibitions

Exhibitions will be events held in the Metaverse that are accessible via multiple platforms. These events will be narrative driven and will seek to promote engagement and discourse within the community.

Community Galleries

M○C△ Community Galleries are tailored platforms that will create curated visual narratives for blockchain companies in an effort to grow brand recognition and reputation.

General Crypto

Crypto Art

Crypto art is digital art with verifiable ownership and provenance via an NFT (non-fungible token).

Metaverse

The metaverse is the interactive virtual world (from the internet as a whole down to more specialized virtual spaces).

NFTs

A non-fungible token (NFT) is a special type of cryptographic token stored on the blockchain which represents something unique. NFTs (unlike crypto currencies, which are fungible) cannot be swapped out for any other token (thus, non-fungible). Non-fungible tokens typically represent ownership of an array of digital artifacts.

ERC-721

A free, open standard that describes how to build non-fungible or unique tokens on the Ethereum blockchain. While most tokens are fungible (every token is the same as every other token), ERC-721 tokens are all unique.

Think of them like rare, one-of-a-kind collectables.

For a full explanation of what the ERC-721 standard entails, check it out here.

ERC-1155

A novel token standard that aims to take the best from previous standards to create a fungibility-agnostic and gas-efficient token contract. A single deployed contract may include any combination of fungible tokens, non-fungible tokens or other configurations (e.g. semi-fungible tokens).

Decentralized Finance (DeFi)

Annual Percentage Yield

Annual percentage yield (APY) is the rate of return on assets in a protocol. The APY shifts moment-to-moment.

Decentralized Exchange Protocol

A decentralized exchange protocol uses peer-to-peer transactions as opposed to running transactions through a central source (Coinbase, for example).

Automated Market Maker

An automated market maker is a type of decentralized exchange protocol which sets prices algorithmically rather than using an order book.

DAO

A DAO (decentralized autonomous organization) is an organization that is run autonomously via code (i.e. not in human hands).

Impermanent Loss

Impermanent loss refers to the possible adjustments in value of tokens as a result of fluctuations in market prices via price-setting algorithms.

Polygon

Polygon is a token that fuels the Polygon Network which provides greater efficiency on the Ethereum blockchain using Layer 2 sidechains, which run parallel to the primary Ethereum blockchain.

Quickswap

QuickSwap is a permissionless decentralized exchange (DEX) based on Ethereum, powered by Polygon’s Layer 2 scalability infrastructure. By utilizing Layer 2 for transactions, QuickSwap users will be able to trade any ERC20 asset at lightning-fast speeds with near-zero gas costs.

QuickSwap can be accessed here.

Staking

Staking refers to the process by which someone allows their tokens to be used by a blockchain to validate transactions, earning additional tokens in return.
